Rostov the Great

I fell in love with Rostov immediately, when I arrived there for the first time with Ruslan Alekseev and the MAO (Maniacs of Active Recreation) team as part of a group of 40 cyclists. We came for the weekend, but there were impressions for a week, and I decided to return to Rostov again with a sketchbook.

The fabulous beauty of the Rostov Kremlin with chiseled turrets and the domes of countless temples seemingly soaring in the sky rises above the calm surface of Lake Nero. It was as if the centuries that had passed in his lifetime had never happened. And near the fortress walls, artisans and craftsmen still invite you to their shops, selling exquisite tiles, delicious gingerbread cookies and the famous Rostov enamel.

Time flows differently here. Or maybe it doesn’t flow at all, but stopped somewhere in the 17th century... Or is it the time machine from the film “Ivan Vasilyevich Changes His Profession” that continues to work, because it was filmed here? Would you dare check it?
